This Privacy Policy explains what information FightSwipe ("FightSwipe", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the FightSwipe app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — your username, display name, email address, and password (stored only as a securely hashed value, never in plain text).
- Profile content — an avatar you choose (emoji/symbol and color) or a profile photo you upload.
- Content you create — your fight picks, party membership, friends, forum posts, messages, and participation in debate rooms or watch parties.
- Communications — messages you send us (e.g., support emails).
Information collected automatically
- Gameplay & stats — your prediction history, points, accuracy, and leaderboard position.
- Device & notification data — a push-notification token (so we can send alerts you opt into) and your notification preferences. Basic technical logs (e.g., error logs) may be generated to keep the service running.
We do not collect precise location, and FightSwipe does not include wagering or process any payment or financial information.
Device permissions
- Camera / Photo library — only if you choose to set or change a profile picture.
- Microphone — only when you join a live voice debate room or watch party.
- Notifications — only if you allow them; you can turn them off any time in your device or in-app settings.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and profile.
- To run the core game — record picks, score results, and build leaderboards.
- To power social features (friends, parties, forums, messages, voice rooms).
- To send notifications you've opted into and respond to your support requests.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- Publicly within the app — your username, avatar, and stats appear on leaderboards and in social features you use.
- With service providers who help us operate the app, under obligations to protect your data — for example cloud hosting, push-notification delivery, live-voice infrastructure, and email delivery.
- For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.
Data retention & account deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), which removes your profile and associated data such as picks and party memberships. You can also email us at thefightswipe@gmail.com to request deletion.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and restricting access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
FightSwipe is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices & rights
You can update your profile, manage notification preferences, and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as to access or delete your data); contact us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
